Lincoln Book Festival 2020 – Online Author Talk – Toby Wilkinson

A World Beneath the Sands: Adventurers and Archaeologists in the Golden Age of Egyptology (Pan Macmillan, 2020)

In this video recorded exclusively for Lincoln Book Festival, acclaimed Egyptologist Toby Wilkinson talks about his new book, A World Beneath the Sands.

The book tells the riveting stories of the men and women whose obsession with Egypt’s ancient civilisation drove them to uncover its secrets.

In 2011, he won the Hessell-Tiltman Prize, awarded to the best work of non-fiction of historical content, for his book The Rise and Fall of Ancient Egypt: the History of a Civilisation from 3000 BC to Cleopatra.
